I’m Yarisel Velacanto,
Hello!
I work at the intersection of IT systems, behavioral analysis, and AI evaluation, bringing clarity and structure to complex information. I'm guided by a simple belief: insights should feel clear, human, and meaningful.
My Path
My curiosity started early. As a kid, I took apart my first PC just to understand how it worked. That instinct to explore and understand never left.
Today, it shows up in how I approach systems, patterns, and AI-assisted workflows. I enjoy digging into complexity, asking questions, and translating what I find into something people can understand and use.
What I Do
With 10+ years in IT, along with experience in UX research and AI-assisted workflows, I’ve developed a way of working that connects how systems function with how people behave within them.
My work often looks like this:
identifying behavioral patterns and translating them into structured, usable insights
evaluating systems and outputs against defined standards to determine what works and what does not
connecting data, human behavior, and research into clear, decision-ready outputs
What Inspires Me
I’m drawn to work that helps people feel supported rather than overwhelmed. Data and systems are most useful when they are approached with clarity and intention.
Whether analyzing patterns, evaluating outputs, or structuring complex ideas into something usable, the goal remains the same: reduce friction, add clarity, and make information easier to understand.
My last name, Velacanto, means "singing candle." It reflects the kind of presence I try to bring into my work: steady, supportive, and quietly illuminating.
Unplugged: Beyond the Work
When I’m not working with systems or analyzing patterns, I spend time on things that keep me curious, creative, and thinking in new ways. These interests shape how I explore ideas and build understanding.
Traveling
Exploring new places helps me step outside my own perspective. Like working across different datasets and domains, travel builds adaptability, awareness, and curiosity. These qualities shape how I investigate patterns and approach problems.
Gaming
Blending storytelling, strategy, and psychology. Paying attention to player behavior and game systems has shaped how I think about behavioral patterns, human motivation, and what keeps people engaged.
Reading
Diving into a good book helps me see the world through different lenses. It sharpens how I notice patterns and translate complex ideas into something clear and meaningful, whether in a dataset or a real-world problem.
Unique Foods
Food is an experience. Exploring diverse cuisines sharpens how I think about variety, context, and the details that make something work. These qualities carry into how I evaluate systems and understand behavior.
Want to Join Forces?Just say the word
Got a system that needs a Waldo spotter, patterns sending dial-up signals, or an AI project that needs a sharp eye on the case? I’m all ears. Let’s talk.
